New aids for I-CAN centre in Gaza Strip

Crammed into a 33 cubic meter container which left Italy 30 days ago, we are now happy to announce that these aids have finally reached their destination.

♿️ 66 wheelchairs for children and adults, 21 postural systems from cushions to chair backs for all ages, 13 walkers, 10 aids for bathroom adaptation, 7 stabilizers and systems for transfers, 21 material parts for improved hand functioning, 53 aids for daily activities, 32 technological tools for communication support, 60 spare parts for manual and electric wheelchairs as well as scooters and much more will soon be available for using.

This recent delivery includes a huge range of products, adapted to the needs of people with disabilities who regularly attend our #ICan مركز الحياة المستقلة center in Gaza City. We would like to thank the Center for Autonomy in Rome for its precious advice and in particular its president Vittorio Barbieri, to whom we express our recognition.

A special thanks also goes to UNDP Palestinian for facilitating entry into the Gaza Strip and to our on-site project manager, Yousef Hamdouna for his commitment.

We take this occasion to remind you that the #Ican project – which aims to strengthen the independence and autonomy of people with disabilities through multi-disciplinary services and consultants – is managed by EducAid and funded by the Italian Agency for Development.
