Our presence in Palestine is consolidated with offices and teams in Jerusalem and Ramallah in West Bank and in the Gaza Strip, where we have carried out interventions of great importance. Among them is the founding of the Independent Living Center for persons with disabilities in Gaza City: a structure with innovative features, unique in the Middle East, now reduced to a pile of rubble by the Israeli military operation.
After October 7, 2023 we have managed, nevertheless, to maintain operations in the Gaza Strip thanks to the commitment of 30 Palestinian field workers and the Gaza Emergency fundraiser, organized with the aim of guaranteeing assistance and basic necessities (food, medicines, aids) to minors and adults with disabilities who, together with their families, find themselves in conditions of extreme vulnerability.
