Palestine is the battlefield of the conflict that has inflamed the Middle Eastern region since the end of World War II. EducAid has been operating in those territories for over 20 years with local teams and headquarters in Jerusalem and Ramallah in West Bank and the Gaza Strip, which have allowed to gain a deep knowledge of the context and to build strong collaboration networks on several levels: institutional, academic and of civil society.
There have been numerous significant projects that have been brought to completion, such as the establishment of the Independent Living Center for persons with disabilities in Gaza City, an innovative and unique building for the Middle East.
There are two main areas of intervention of EducAid’s activities in Palestine: the enhancement of the education systems with an inclusive perspective and the promotion of rights of the most vulnerable groups of the population (persons with disabilities, women, and minors, in particular) through psycho-social journeys, socio-economic empowerment actions, job training and support for entrepreneurship.
After October 7, 2023 EducAid has been able to maintain its operativity, even in the Gaza Strip, thanks to the commitment of 30 Palestinian collaborators that ensure assistance, basic necessities and help for persons with disabilities in conditions of extreme vulnerability, despite the severe humanitarian emergency.
