Educaid in Armenia
Armenia, a former Soviet Republic, is independent since 1991. A critical state of tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan has been going on since 1988. In 1992 a war between the two states burst, caused by the attempt to reconquera small region in Azerbaijan inhabited by Armenians. It has been a very expensive conflict: both countries paid the price of an economical stalemate caused by the commercial blockade they imposed each other. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the truce signature with Azerbaijan, Armenia started a reform process concurrently to an internationalization one. Indeed, since the ratification of the Convention of the Rights of the Child, the Government of Armenia has committed to reform its social services system by increasing its efforts to ensure the respect of children's rights in every aspect of life.
