Support the promotion and development of inclusive schools in El Salvador
The project "Support the promotion and development of inclusive schools in El Salvador", funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been proposed by the Faculty of Education, University of Bologna in collaboration with Educaid and in partnership with MINED (Ministerio de Educación de El Salvador). Following the positive results achieved in the pilot experience of the Italian Cooperation in El Salvador, "Realización de un complejo de tipo experimental inclusive education" (which many experts have helped the University of Bologna), the Faculty of Education with the support of Mined, aims to promote a model of inclusive schools to help combat social exclusion and to promote appreciation of diversity and good practice through the empowerment of local educational institutions. From the perspective inclusive education, school is the place where you include all types of diversity to promote participation in the economic, social, cultural and political community by children and girls at serious risk of social exclusion, determined by situations of poverty and discrimination of a socio-cultural and physical. Through inclusive education can overcome the handicap deficit produced by psycho-physical and social conditions of severe disadvantage to allow access to education for all boys and girls. The project provides training for government officials and teachers to develop a model of inclusive schools in El Salvador. In the course of the initiative will be carried out workshops, training seminars and technical sections in collaboration with the local Ministry of Education. There are also plans to create a platform for distance education and the creation of a national observatory on the identification of good practices that are local, whose work fits into the strategic plan of national educational policies.
